We raise our game: for our people, for our players, for our planet.
We do everything we can to ensure that every person uses our services safely and responsibly, constantly pushing to make our business safer and protect our customers and communities. As a founding member of the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), we’re also working with other BGC members to raise industry safety standards, whether it’s through Safer Gambling Commitments or industry working groups.
Player Safety is at the very heart of our culture. All our colleagues play their part in keeping our Players safe, whether they work directly or indirectly with our customers. As campaigners for player safety, William Hill welcomed the 2020 Gambling Act Review. Our industry is now more committed than ever to keeping gambling as safe as possible — and we continue to raise those standards. We’re actively engaged with the UK Government to guide our customers, and colleagues towards safer, smarter decisions, and ensure that any new regulations work alongside the positive development of the gambling industry.
Winning Together
We know that to achieve great things, we need to work together as one inclusive team. It’s one of our organisational values. We’re a diverse group, with colleagues from many different nationalities, backgrounds and experiences and we know that to harness this strength everyone needs to feel respected, valued and heard.
Our colleagues collaborate and listen to each other, we are respectful and inclusive and we do our best to bring people together across different departments, geographies, and cultures.
We communicate clearly to create a positive impact on others and are considerate of ways to include people by adapting our style and tone.
And we care. We are aware of the impact that we can have on other people and build psychological safety through trust and respect. We promote the wellbeing of ourselves and each other so that we can all be and do our best.
From our recognition programmes to our performance reviews, how we live this, and all of our values, matters just as much as the work that we deliver.
Employee Communities
Our employee led networks provide a place where our colleagues can connect, celebrate and support each other. They work together to build a sense of community across the entire business by connecting colleagues with shared experiences. All of the communities drive meaningful change within the organisation and have sponsors from senior management team to guide and advocate for them.
Our colleagues in the UK work in partnership with Neighbourly, an award-winning giving platform that helps businesses make a positive impact in their communities by donating volunteer time.
Meanwhile, at William Hill International, our aim is to have a positive impact on our local and wider communities. In Malta we launched the #cleantheocean initiative in 2017 and have since organised many clean-up activities. All employees at WH International have access to our Volunteer Time Off Programme each year, where they can volunteer at a recognised non-profit organisation or charity.
We know that to create a sustainable society, we need to work together.
Our approach to sustainability goes beyond corporate philanthropy. It centres around three pillars: People, Players and Planet.
